Ahmadiyya set to graduate
40 HUFAS
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at
Nigeria is set to graduate 40 HUFAS (young pupils between the ages
of nine and 12 years, who have memorised the Holy Qur’án) within
three years.
The Hufas, among whom is Abdul
Wahab Yahya Salaam, were trained at the Madrasat-il Tahfizul Qur’án
(Hafiz Class), Ahmadiyya Missionary Training Centre in Ilaro, Ogun
State, South West Nigeria.
The complete memorisation of
the Holy Qur’án programme started in 1997 under the (Amirship)
leadership of Alhaji Hussein Oyekanmi Sunmonu, who donated his
buildings at Ilaro for the take-off of the project. He also
constructed a mosque within the precinct of the students’
environment.
Ahmadiyya took over the
challenge of training young people who will memorise the Qur’án to
enliven the strategy of the Holy Prophet Muhammad to preserve the
Holy Qur’án and its sanctity.
The Jama’at had since taken
over the full care of the students providing new classrooms and
boarding house. The women group-Lajnal Imaillah- has also availed
the Hufas the use of its mosque at Jamia Training Centre in Ilaro,
while the parents of the students assist in the general well-being
of the students.
To date, Ahmadiyya Muslim
Jama’at, Nigeria has trained over 100 Hufas. Some of them are
already studying Medicine, Engineering Law, Arabic and Islamic
Studies, while others has dedicated their life for missionary work.
This year’s graduation
ceremony is scheduled for July 11 by 10am at the Jamia Ahmadiyya
Training Centre, Ilaro Ogun state, under the Chairmanship of Dr.
Mashuud Adenrele Fasola, The Amir, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at,
