Awards for support and inspiration were given to Lagos state commissioner for women affairs, Mrs. Joke Adefulure, Diamond Bank Plc and Nollywoods’ Stella Damasus Aboderin.

Manufacturing excellence awards went to Ayman Enterprise Limited, manufacturers of Amigos; Linda Manufacturing company limited, manufacturers of X-pression; Pro 10 Sensational; Venus-Nina company limited.

Others include Emily Millionaire Cosmetic; PZ Industries Limited, manufacturers of Venus Relaxer.

Bobby’s Signature, Down Town salon/Academy, Glamour Salon, Whuz dat Girl salon, One 2 ‘N’ 2 International limited salon were recognized as the best salons while Xabopel Ventures Nigeria limited (Xabury) was given the best barber award.

Meritorious service awards went to Elegant Twins school of cosmetology, Opral Benson Training Institute, Sholly beauty world among others.

Speaking, chairperson of the event Stella Damasus Aboderin said it was about time practitioners of the hair industry were commended because the hair is one thing that Nigerian women are particular about.

She however urged the manufacturers of hair products to put into the Nigerian market only the originals of their products as advertised at different times. They should also use Nigerian style icons as the faces on the products brought into the Nigerian market rather than the foreign faces that many Nigerians can’t quickly relate to.

On why the awards, publisher of African Hair & Beauty Magazine, Mr. Anthony Smith said the hair industry has employed a lot of people and given them a means of livelihood.

It is pertinent that they cannot be ignored he concluded adding that the practitioners have worked hard to keep the industry growing even in the face of all the challenges.

Two-in-one corporate women wears

Stories by chinyere amaechi-musa

Necessity has been identified as the mother of invention and also plays vital role in the area of dressing and patronizing trends.

Getting a standard quality corporate suit costs a fortune. For this reason most women of trend take time to choose what they would wear as suits.

The economic down turn of the nation naturally hampers much spending on not too necessary things of life but on urgent needs.

It is against this backdrop that women weigh the pros and cons of their finances well before going into buying that may otherwise be considered ostentatious.

They have learnt to kill two birds with a stone. They now prefer three piece suits which affords you at least two unique outings without many noticing that you have been on just one outfit.

Often time the trouser is won with just a shirt or camisole apart from the complete three-piece. The wearer can well change the shirt if she chooses to wear the design for more than two times. However, as a woman ensure proper hygiene while you recycle and re-arrange an outfit.

In all and in whatever way you may decide to wear your corporate suit, you look smashing. Times are hard, so spend wisely.
