Imo honours its own
Imo state government recently
held a civic reception in honour of its distinguished sons.
The honourees were the
Comptroller General of Customs, Dr. Bernard-Shaw Nwadialo; managing
director, Nigeria LNG limited Dr. Chimaobi Ibeneche; GOC, 81
Division of the Nigerian Army, Major Gen. Eugene Nwanguma; Group
Executive Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC),
Mr. Philip Chukwu; and the State Director of State Security Service
(SSS), Ondo state command, Mr. Victor Duru.
The event, which was held at
Ocean View Restaurant, Victoria Island, Lagos, was well attended by
eminent personalities from various walks of life.
SS Peter & Paul inducts patrons
The Catholic Women
Organisation (CWO) of the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church,
Oke-Afa, Isolo-Lagos last Sunday, held the induction ceremony of
patrons and new members, even as the event was also used to raise a
N10 million fund for a 28-seater bus.
The parish priest, Rev. Father
John Sare, led other priests during the ceremony, which attracted
top personalities like the chairman, Ejigbo local council of Lagos,
Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan, wife of Lagos state governor, Mrs. Abimbola
Fashola, who was represented by a director in the State Ministry of
Finance, Mrs. Bolaji Abosede among others.
Mr. Martins Nwamadi, until
recently the general manager, marketing, Champion Newspapers limited
was among those inducted.
