The ‘unknown’ Super Eagles goalkeeper, Obi Evans Ngemba may have landed in trouble with his German club, SV Heimstetten for accepting Nigeria’s invitation for the friendly against Colombia.

Rather than take delight in the fact that Ngemba’s call-up has shot their obscure club into international spotlight, Heimstetten have revealed that they did not receive any official request from the Nigerian football authorities regarding the invitation of the goalkeeper.

A top official of the team was quoted by Brila Fm as saying they only got the information about the call from Ngemba himself and his girlfriend.

The official stated further that Obi was absent from the last training and they assumed he was on the flight to Cali, Columbia.

The club which has dissociated themselves from the invitation are angry at response of Ngemba to an unofficial invitation to the national team and may sanction him when he returns to base.

Ngemba reportedly joined Heimstetten on a free transfer from division nine rivals, Academia Afrika München three months ago.
