16 teams emerge for Shubomi Balogun U-17 final

Sixteen teams have qualified for the grand finale of the National Youth Soccer Association organised Otunba Shubomi Balogun U-17 Soccer Championship scheduled to hold at the Ijebu-Ode Stadium, Ogun Sate at a date yet to be announced by the organizers.

According to a release signed by the NYSA organizing Committee Chairman, Andrew Egboro, the championship which is being organised among states in the South-West geo-political zone has suffered delay due to logistic problems.

He explained that having played the state qualifiers in the six states, the organisers is committed to staging a high standard and successful tournament.

"It is imperative to appeal to all the already qualified teams to exercise patience and bear with us for the unavoidably delay in the date of the final and hopeful to get in touch as soon as all i’s have been dotted and the t’s crossed," he said.

"The competition I want to believe will create avenue for the youths to come together and exhibit their God’s given talents and skills in order to develop good soccer mentality compared with their counterparts in the international community," he added.

The qualified teams from Lagos State include Mighty Stars FC, Mile 12, Glory FC, Ikotun, Damilola Tailor FC, Ebute-Meta and Young Strikers FC, Lagos Island .

The teams from Ogun State include Little-Ton FC, Iju-Ishaga, Otta Fc, Otta, Junior Bombers FC, Shagamu and Junior Milan FC, Abiade, Waterside.

Osun Bombers FC, Oshogbo and Ife Warriors FC, Ile-Ife qualified from Osun State, while Molete United FC, Ibadan and United FC, Owinni, Oyo scaled through the state qualifying rounds in Oyo State.

Ekiti State teams include Ekiti Pupa FC, Ado-Ekiti and Alexandra FC, Ekiti, while Ekinmogun United, Ondo Town and Akure Babes FC, Akure qualified form Ondo State .
